Coronavirus and the Country’s Future (48a)

Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell the sons of Israel to turn back and camp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea; you shall camp in front of Baal-zephon, opposite it, by the sea. For Pharoah will say of the sons of Israel, ‘they are wandering aimlessly in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’ “Thus I will harden Pharoah’s heart, and he will chase after them; and I will be honored through Pharoah and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord,” and they did so (Ex.14:1-4).

Egypt’s plagues were against Egypt’s gods, and were God’s means of demonstrating His judgment to Egypt, and grace to Israel.

Biblically, Israel in the Old Testament being set free from Egypt, is a picture of the church in the New Testament, set free through the work of Jesus Christ, and enjoying the liberty of the Gospel. Paul explains bluntly, that

It was for freedom that Christ set us free… (Gal.5:1).

Christians in any part of the world shouldn’t think that our freedoms in Christ are always secure. The devil would relish seeing God’s people coming under forms of control, and he’ll use whatever means he can to do so. A very common means historically, have been ruthless, devious political leaders, like Pharoah, Herod or England’s King John. And there have been a multitude of these types in our modern era.

I’ve felt that all the government “information” around Coronavirus has dripped with deception, right from the beginning. Yes, people have died from the virus, just as millions die internationally from all kinds of flu annually, but it’s never been called a “pandemic” before, except perhaps in 1918.

His emails from early in 2020 make it plain that Tony Fauci, the man on charge of the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in the US, knew that what happened in China could easily go around the world, but he’s denying responsibility. It’s also evident that he’s friends with some big Pharmaceutical companies, who want to sell vaccinations by the millions to a trusting public. Those companies might just have a vested interest in the broad community being kept in the dark.

Fauci has refused to provide simple, preventative advice for people to take cheap and practical steps to protect themselves from the virus, such as Vitamins C and D. Nor has he wished to recommend (as any good GP would), the two drugs which have a proven track record for coronavirus, hydroxychoroquine, and ivermectin, and which are also very cheap.

Worse, the major vaccine producers have long histories of criminal convictions for fraud, with fines running to billions. This gets worse and worse.

Fauci has been the head of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. In the 37 years since, he’s been responsible for doling out research funding that amounts to nearly $1 trillion. Who has received those taxpayer dollars? Primarily those who are aligned with the drug industry. It’s become an incestuous relationship that revolves around the creation of profit, while the public receives virtually no benefit.

In fact, in many cases, public health has suffered tremendously, and people have no concept of what has happened, or how their ill health is the outgrowth of corrupted policies and conflicts of interest.[1]

Millions have died, and Fauci’s still on the public purse, supported by the President. What happened to your Centre for “disease control,” Tony?

And in Australia, political leaders today have hardened their hearts. You protest?

They often call in the police, and some arrests especially in Victoria have been suspect, and will finish up in court. Clearly, this has been an opportunity for governments around the world to be oppressive and brutal, and they’re taking it.

Why? Because they can, so they do, and in far too many cases, the church has been silent, and thus complicit in an international disaster.

But, it’s been great to hear a dissenting voice. H.G. Mar Mari Emmanuel, a Greek Orthodox Bishop in Sydney, has publicly questioned the legitimacy of the lockdowns. Well, here’s a breath of fresh air!

So, in all this, I’m actually encouraged by what’s been happening. Around the world over the weekend of 24/25th July, there were lots of public protests and marches, and that included Australia. Accompanying this public protest, have been displays of astonishing ineptitude by political and bureaucratic leaders, who clearly have no understanding of what successful leadership requires from individuals.

When the Premier of the State of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian imposes a lockdown on Sydney, and requires that everyone in Sydney wears a mask, but takes it upon herself to go out in public to buy coffee without a mask, or even think she has some obligation to do so, her credibility becomes somewhat strained. Is this leadership?

Then when her Health Minister defends her, claiming that her private life is no concern of others in the community, it looks hopelessly hypocritical. It is.

Lead by example? Don’t think so!

If they foul their nest, they foul their nest. Their ineptitude is sad and pitiful, and they may well get what they deserve: public condemnation for unjustifiable, evil acts of community abuse.

Ancient Baalism was a religion of the State, proclaiming that the State was ultimate. Today, anyone would think from the public statements of our “leaders,” that the State is ultimate. Well, God will have the last word on that one, just as He did with Pharoah.

People are tired from lockdown frustration and inconvenience, not to speak of course of the income individuals and businesses have been compelled to forego, or the taxes we’ll have to come up with, for years. The political manufacturers of the Coronavirus propaganda are beginning to lose their authority, their credibility’s being questioned, and it won’t get any better for them. This is a reason for Christians to rejoice and be glad.

But much more than that, it’s a time for the church to finally wake up and begin to speak the truth about the loss of freedoms, the pointless lockdowns, the restraint of trade imposed on the community, not to speak of religious freedoms to simply meet together, being curtailed.

Lockdowns, restrictions on movement, social distancing regulations, State border closures and compulsory wearing of masks, are all oppressive measures against individuals, families, churches and other groups in the community. Furthermore, it’s highly debatable that they have any positive consequences for anyone.

But the gospel of Jesus Christ is entirely different, and it has outcomes that are spiritual, social, economic and political-even educational.

It is incumbent on the church to proclaim the truth of the gospel, in all of its facets. It confronts all oppression, which is why the enemies of God have always tied to suppress its proclamation. And its why believers, in their covenant faithfulness to God, must boldly declare now that every oppressive measure that has been laid upon the community with coronavirus propaganda must be rejected, out of hand.

Why? Because

…if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed (Jn.8:36).
